Access Statement
Introduction
The Kingsway is an elegant Victorian terraced property on the tree lined Columbus Ravine situated on the North side of Scarborough.
We aim to meet the needs of all our guests however due to the nature of the property this can make access for guests with limited mobility difficult.
The Kingsway is located on a gentle hill with steps leading up to the front door. Our bedrooms are on two levels with stairs leading up to both.
This makes it unsuitable for people in wheelchairs.
Pre Arrival
The Kingsway is located on a main road with easy access by car.
The nearest bus stop to the town centre is 200yards away.
There is also a bus stop approximately the same distance away for buses between Scarborough and York or Leeds.
Scarborough Railway Station is approx ¾ mile away.
There are plenty of taxis available from the station and we have contact with local taxi firms and are happy to pre book taxis from the hotel.
We do not accept pets.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
When making a booking please let us know your estimated time of arrival.
Rooms are available from 2.00 pm but if you arrive earlier you may leave your luggage.
We ask that rooms be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure.
Parking is on the street outside the guest house. We issue free parking permits for the duration of your stay.
There is secure parking available for motorbikes and cycles.
We are walker and cyclist friendly.
Assistance with luggage is always available.
Main Entrance & Reception
There are two steps leading up to the entrance door from the outside.
Please ring the bell on arrival.
There is a reception desk in the hallway where you can check in and register.
There is also a bell on the bar in the dining room/bar area which you can ring for assistance at any time.
Public Areas
The front door leads through the lobby and inner door to a carpeted hallway, stairs, guest lounge and dining room/bar.
There are two comfortable settees in the guest lounge with television including freeview and DVD player.
The dining room has separate tables for each room.
We also have a fully licensed bar.
We have two sets of stairs leading between the ground and first and second floors. Both sets of stairs have handrails.
All rooms have central heating including the guest lounge, which also has a fire.
Public areas – WC
The public toilet is located on the first floor.
Lounge/ Dining Room/Bar
The lounge is always available for guests to relax in.
There are two reclining settees, one two seater and one three seater.
There is a colour television with freeview and a DVD player and a bookcase with a variety of books to choose from.
We have a fully licensed bar offering a variety of drinks.
There are separate tables in the dining room which is fully carpeted.
We provide evening meals on request, six days a week, not on a Sunday.
Please order one day in advance or when booking.
Bedrooms
We have seven bedrooms, three double, two family and two single.
All are carpeted, except for the en-suites in which the floors are vinyl.
All rooms have central heating.
All rooms except the singles are en-suite.
The single rooms have the use of a private shower room.
We provide hospitality trays in each room with tea, coffee and biscuits.
Each room has its own colour television and alarm.
Hair dryers are available on request.
The bedrooms are located over two floors.
Shower room & WC
There is a shower room on the first floor with WC.
The shower is used mainly by the two single rooms.
All other rooms have en suites with showers.
There are no baths available for guests.
Additional Information
A full fire alarm system is in operation.
Fire Extinguishers are located around the guest house and clearly marked.
Please read the fire instructions on the back of the door in your room.
If you have difficulty hearing please let us know.
All fire exits are clearly marked.
The Kingsway is fully NON SMOKING
We are happy to cater for any special diets, vegetarians etc. Please let us know when booking.
